some places hold your attention like a picture enveloped in a frame: simple and complex tree-bent around the brain

This is surely a metaphor on Keta's present condition/situation: crumbling and deserted, yet signs of human presence still visible; gate ajar, one window covered with roofing. Someday even what's left could be swept away, brooms and all (if nothing is done about it).
Indeed tree-bent around the brain is probably the best line that explains Keta's situation philosophically.
The desolate state of the old town does leave one with some moving feelings. Truth is Keta's greatness of yore has been lost in the ravaging Atlantic. Today we live in hope that Keta will rise again, the gloom gone and her children back home.
like drops of spring rain, Van's poetry gives us a sneak preview of the beauty of the Ghanaian experience...something he had to submerge himself into, as he retraced his way back to the home of his ancestors...great work!

Surely, it calls for concern.

I think these are some of the issues politicians should look at before they leave their mouth ajar.

I feel this. Trouble. My heart goes out.
