Degenerated Past - Nana Yeboaa

When you get to Russia
Go to Paa Willie junction
In the evening it is a maze of humans
Poor at the least

Jotex Park, there I resided
I remember a time we used to run
To see the children play soccer
See the winners and root for our favorites

Now, litter scatters around
Houses built haphazardly
Noise and pollution all over
The young aged

the inhabitants stationary
or regressing into poverty
Roads unidentifiable now
The end is in sight

I cried at my past
For it is painful to see others still in it
With nowhere to go

A past filled with death and sorrow
A past one will like to cover and not uncover
Go to Paa Willie junction
And you will see the regression of Ghana

Russia in Ghana? Talk about themes and ideas. I thought the Gomoa line of cities were the funniest in Ghana. Like Gomoa Pakistan, Gomoa Yugoslavia, Gomoa Germany or Gomoa Los Angeles. Just having fun. Thank you for your poem, Nana Yeboaa. God bless.
